Journalism is a powerful tool that empowers individuals, builds stronger local communities and elevates global awareness.
Through news desks, complementary companion programs, social entrepreneurship and global partnerships, Global Press Institute broadens the reach and impact of our programs.
Regional News Desks
Global Press Institute's Regional News Desks bring together ethics-based journalism training, employment of women, global dissemination of original content and companion programs. Learn more
Reporters' Network
Global Press Institute trains and employs individuals — with a current focus on women in developing countries — to be GPI Certified Reporters for our local independent publications, regional news desks and global newswire. Learn more
Companion Programs
Program goals and objectives are strongly linked to the greater development and success of the whole community. To that end, Global Press Institute creates companion programs, such as adult literacy and computer skills classes, in the communities where we operate regional news desks. Learn more
Social Entrepreneurship
Global Press Institute recently launched a 10-year strategy to generate income for each of our in-country news desks. Global Press Institute reinvests all monies from the sale of news content directly back into the News Desk where the content originated. By 2015, we will achieve 50 percent sustainability in each GPI News Desk!
Global Partnerships
Partnerships are key to Global Press Institute's ability to reach more people through our journalism training programs. Learn more
