Places

One of the best ways to invest in a place is to foster ethical, investigative journalism in the region!

Many of our social investors are former Peace Corps volunteers who spent years of their youth working for change and development in places like Nepal or Ghana. Other social investors have adopted children from Kenya or Bangladesh.

People

Investing in people is perhaps the most powerful way to put your dollars to work. At Global Press Institute, we believe in investing in people, which is why economic empowerment is the cornerstone of our mission.

Global Press Institute uses an innovative training-to-employment model that allows women with no prior experience to learn the craft of journalism to become ethical, investigative reporters.

Journalism

Many of us are concerned about the health of journalism. Global Press Institute's founder was recently described as "one of the people who will usher in a return to serious journalism." Indeed, our unique approach to journalism ensures that our reporters tell stories rich with social, historical and political context! The Global Press Institute Newswire publishes daily feature stories from regions of the world that receive little to no mainstream media attention.

What's more, our News Desks are staffed by local women, trained to produce ethical, investigative journalism. Global Press Institute uses journalism as a development tool to educate, empower and inform.
