The Zimbabwe News Desk is located in Bulawayo, the country's second largest city. Zimbabwe, located in southern Africa, gained its independence in 1980 and has had the same leader since. Although Zimbabwe is recovering from a decade of economic decline, it still faces a "triple threat" of poverty and food insecurity, weakened government and high HIV/AIDS prevalence rates.
