Internships with The Press Institute are designed to provide you with a new level of experience and a new set of skills. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in just a few months' time. You'll be able to take what you've learned in school and use it to make a real contribution to the the field of ethical journalism. Our internship program seeks to provide professional and practical experience for undergraduate and graduate students interested in contributing to the growth and sustainability of The Press Institute. Internships are available in Bay Area in California and Portland, Oregon, USA.
Telecommuting is possible with reliable access to ICTs.
Interns must be available to work at least 10 hours per week.

Are you a news junkie? Do you thirst for more content written by the people who actually experience "news worthy" events? Does the thought of making The Press Institute's original news content - which has an emphasis on news produced by women in developing countries - available on a global scale make you giddy with excitement? If so, come talk to us! The Media and Development Intern will be responsible for securing media subscribers and content sharing partners for all PI content.
When you see a glass that is filled halfway, is the glass half-empty or half-full? Does it always seem like there is never enough to go around or the pie is always big enough? Do you have a copy of the book "Laws of Attraction" next to your bedside?
If you are the kind of person who has an optimistic outlook and dreams of becoming a first-class fundraiser, then the Fundraising and Development Internship is calling your name. We are looking for a go-getter who is comfortable performing a wide range of mission critical duties. This intern will be responsible for researching grants and other opportunities to facilitate financial growth and development for The Press Institute.

This intern will be responsible for editing all web copy and updating the organization's website. Additional copy editing duties will include: organizational press releases and PI News content generated from our reporters in 22 countries around the world!
Do you have a keen business mind, warm heart, and global soul? Do you see yourself on the cover of Fast Company within the next 5-7 years as a leading social entrepreneur? If so, this internship is the perfect place for you start! The Social Entrepreneurship Intern will support the development of The Press Institute's first-ever global business initiative in Nairobi, Kenya. The intern will be involved in a variety of projects, including research, business plan development, and grant writing and/or editing.
