Strong environmental reporting requires a complex understanding of climate science, political necessity and human impact. This seminar is designed to focus on human-centric, solutions-based climate reporting. This curricula has become the basis for Global Press Institute's new Climate Wire, to debut January 2011.
We've all read the “parts-per-million” news stories about climate change. Much of the environmental reporting today is a combination of dry science and bickering politics. This specialty reporting seminar is designed to focus on both the human impact and human innovation related to climate change.
In this course, we explore the roots of the political fracas, unpack the science and study how people around the globe are already making changes to deal with rising temperatures and water levels. The state-of-the-art learning materials that accompany this course will provide reporters with a who’s-who list of exceptional environmental sources in and out of the political divide.
This course is available as a day-long seminar for non-Global Press Institute reporters and as a month-long training program for Global Press Institute certified reporters.
