Chanda is a young, vibrant Zambian lady living and working in Zambia, where she was born. Chanda possesses a bachelor's degree in mass communications with a minor in development studies from the University of Zambia. Chanda’s ambition is to be a major player in the social sector, one who influences positive changes in the lives of young people, especially young women. It is this ambition that influenced Chanda to become a journalist.
Chanda has been a practicing broadcast and print journalist since 2007. She embraces journalism, information and communication technology and utilizes them to disseminate social health issues. Her articles published with Global Press Institute often take unique angles, which really dig into the various issues affecting women in Zambia.
Chanda is also co-founder and member of a Zambian feminist movement called Generation Alive, which is committed to deconstructing patriarchal systems that are detrimental to the development and progress of women.
Chanda has a great passion for young people and decided to be a journalist to help enable a society where young people are well informed about their rights, are able to take up leadership and make informed decisions on all issues affecting their lives.
