My name is Isugi Gloriose. I am 23 years old, and I live in Kigali. I have been a journalist with GPI and Ni Nyampinga Magazine since April 2012, writing different articles about Rwandan women and girls. I am studying journalism at the National University of Rwanda.
I like journalism because I want to be a voice to voiceless people in Rwandan communities and elsewhere in the world. In my life I worry about miserable people. I like working hard in my life – my goal is not to be bad because of the laziness. During my primary and secondary studies, I liked studying hard, and I had success during my studies where I got high marks, which permitted me to continue my studies at National University of Rwanda.
What inspired me to become a journalist is that I like the journalism profession, and since I was young, I liked hearing people reporting news on different Rwandan radios. I have been involved with journalism since I started at the university, where I used to write for both the Anglican church Itabaza Newspaper and for gospel website Agakiza. I enjoy print and broadcast journalism. My hobbies are praying, singing in the choir, listening to gospel music, eating fruits, sharing with my colleagues, and enjoying different good events with them. I like truthful people, and I hate rude and untruthful people. Even as I do journalism, I like business more, and I hope that I will realize my dreams and do it.
