“Who [is] supposed to be the voice of the voiceless?” asks Noella Nyirabihogo. Being that voice is a journalist’s major responsibility, she says. Her goal is to speak for the needy people through media.
“I want to be a known as a professional journalist,” says Noella. It has been her dream since she was a child. But not just any journalist – she wants to be a fair and unbiased journalist. Noella, 26, is married with one child. She lives in Kimihurura, and she has a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She studied at the National University of Rwanda.
Noella is happy when she is with her family and feels sad when she sees injustice done to people. Her advice for other Rwandans is to seek development in order to realize their dreams.
“Every Rwandan should try to look into the past and remember everything that has happened, so that if the same thing happens again, they will know what precautions to take,” she says. “The one not knowing where he has come from doesn’t even know where he is going.”
