I grew up in a convent boarding school where there was little entertainment. This is where I found my eternal love: books – my companion and my entertainment. As a little girl, this is what inspired me to write. I wrote short stories and essays to get through boring study hours. Writing was a passion that was deeply ingrained in me. I studied economics, psychology and sociology, but when it came to pursuing a career, I did not enjoy my work. The drive and passion was amiss.
I started writing professionally in 2009 and worked for Nepal’s national daily and leading magazines. I quit both these jobs because I felt it wasn’t the right fit for me. I strongly believe that journalism is about transparency without biasness. It should be an independent entity whose sole endeavor is to share the truth. After I wrote my first story for GPI in March 2012, I knew I found my home. I want to be the voice of the unheard and bring their stories to life and bring radical changes in my society and my country.
